In 2022, just one year since our launch, we have become a certified B Corporation! We’ve been working towards this certification even before we officially launched because we wanted to embed the B Corp values into the foundations of our business. It strengthens our honest commitment to people and the planet.

Any company can produce cleaning products, but it mostly comes at a cost to your health and damage to the planet. This is why Spruce was born. What makes us unique is our mission and commitment to do business in a better way. One that doesn’t cause further damage. We’re proud of our B Corp certification. It’s a way for us to be honest and transparent with the people that matter most – you guys.
The certification process made us take a deeper look into how we monitor and minimise any negative impact on the planet throughout our supply chain, choose to work with conscious suppliers and partners, and treat our employees and customers fairly.

But where is the proof that we actually mean what we say?
Well, in short: our products help individuals cut down on plastic waste, CO2 from shipping water and household indoor air pollution. We don’t want to just ‘offset’ our carbon emissions. We plan to reduce how much unnecessary packaging and products we produce in the first place. This aligns with United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal #12 to promote responsible production and consumption.
And by becoming a certified B Corp, we take the legal pledge to always prioritise what's best for people and the planet over monetary gains. This is a better way to do business.

We believe sustainability is never separate from people’s health. In fact, the two are deeply connected. We're proud to say that we don’t, and will never use toxic chemicals or invisible nasties that have been linked to serious health problems. That’s why Spruce is free from phthalates, synthetic fragrances, optical brighteners, pesticides, bleach, formaldehyde, petroleum, palm oil and phosphates.

As a female founded and mostly female-run business, we celebrate diversity and try to nurture an environment where all types of people, opinions and lifestyles are valued and heard. We will always speak up about issues that are important to our core values and encourage a healthy conversation. We strongly believe in Intersectional Environmentalism, the belief that there's no environmental justice without social justice. The marginalised communities are more at risk by climate change and we aim to always do our best to support them.
